Misconstrued paranoias
flying through my head
every day I'd wak up fearing
I'd get a call that you were dead.
I never wanted to let you go
wanting to protect you
all I ever tried to show
what that my love was true.
One day I realized
that we weren't meant to be
but I was terrified
you would never forgive me.
I shoudl have stopped things sooner
I let us grow too far apart
but I'll never forget you
you've left a scar upon my heart.
did you know that I was planning
to ask you to be my bride
even knowing that we were doomed
I still wanted you by my side.
someone told me once
a long, long time ago
that sometiems when you love someone
you have to let them go.
I guess what I'm trying to say
even though my heart screams 'NEVER!'
is that I release you dear.
I'll love you, forever.

I decided to rhyme this time, I've never done that before.. it was a weird experience. regardless of the feelings behind it, I'm glad you liked it.

Just the rhythm and rhyming in themselves is good but the truth and sweetness make this one of your best pieces. You always manage to articulate emotions in a universal way but never a trite way. :clap: and :hug:

thank you. I usually don't rhyme mostly because I'm too stubborn to. I always saw rhyming as a crutch, but I think may be slowly coming around.
